not necessarily, with sony it depends on how the camera is setup... if there is "lots of noise" in the evf, there will be lots of noise in the actual photo, and you can't see that with an ovf, which is why ovf is a fail, it does NOT reflect what the actual photo will look like.
not sure what's wrong but if i compare this latest sony a7 iv (gold rated @dp) with my three years old lumix s1 (silver rated @dp at that time), atleast on DR iso invariance, I can see two stop of advantage to s1.
@tbcass i know and agree, was not complaining about rating, just stated for reference.lumix s1 af specially in 60fps apsc mode has improved dramatically but no match for sony. also is quite a big camera. otherwise it doesn't overheat, unlimited recording modes, better codecs, image stabilisation and much better iq imo.the difference in IQ is quite significant, otherwise i wouldn't be surprise.
Video-vs-photo. In the first exemple you linked the cameras are about the same because in the well lighted area of the photo. With my 6D I was going up to 25600, now i can go up to 51200 with the same quality, is not portrait photography it's dance scene or street photography by night. If some don't believe, no problem. So now is another comparison at 12 800 with normalized photos, I see: 1) R6, 2)1DXIIII, the A1 and RP about the same, but I may be wrong. -comparison?attr18=lowlight&attr13_0=canon_eosr6&attr13_1=sony_a1&attr13_2=canon_eos1dxiii&attr13_3=canon_eosrp&attr15_0=jpeg&attr15_1=jpeg&attr15_2=jpeg&attr15_3=jpeg&attr16_0=12800&attr16_1=12800&attr16_2=12800&attr16_3=12800&attr126_1=1&normalization=compare&widget=1&x=-0.8997781650523085&y=0.16324845719149456
Magnar. I have a calibrated workflow and aware that this is a limited perspective. Having said that, I think you can still notice some differences in the jpg engine, adressing the green cast it had in the past. I work with raw myself and I am not a sony shooter, so it really doesn't matter a lot to me personally.
Fantastic write up! I recently came across a super albinar mc auto zoom 80-205mm lens at a thrift store in great condition and was hoping to find an adapter to fit a sony a7, however Im having some trouble. Could anyone lead me in the right direction?
Hello,Thank you very much for a great post. I am currently considering selling my canon 70d and purchasing sony a7 ii since i always wanted to upgrade to full frame. I shoot film as well and I own numerous manual nikon lenses such as 35mm f2 50mm f2 85mm f2 (planning on purchashing more). Do you think it would be okay to use only manual nikon lenses with sony a7 ii? I love manual lenses and I am on a budget so I thought this would be a good idea share my old nikon manual lenses with sony a7 ii and not buy and modern lenses.Thank you
As I Said before,I now onley use Sony A7 with vintage lenses, but I have had thoughts about buying A7ii and A7iii, but right now I dont need image stabilisation and autofokus,so sony A7 and fujifilm x-t3 is all I need now. The big problem with Sony FE system compared to fujifilm ,as I see it,is very expensive native lenses ore much more weight.Anyway right now, Sony A7 is a very nice camera to use vintage lenses. The onley thing In dont like,is the shutter would, but its ok, om getting used to it.
what about 4/3 lens to Sony Adapter? There are already a few adapters on ebay and amazon that can adapt the older four thirds lens to sony E-mount/nex.Have you tried any? Is it possible to work?
All right, we're into the application setting, and when you go into this on your camera, you're not going to see very much there's going to be a very short application list and if let's go to my camera because I just the other day just for the purpose of being able to have some show and tell, I went and I downloaded some apse, and this is something that is a bit revolutionary for meeks. I'm not a very big apple guy, and so let's get over to the ap section and the application list. And so what an app is it's it's, a program that you can download from the internet onto your camera to add features to your camera? This is also a way for sony to make more money because they can sell you aps, in which that the cameras should probably already be able to do that, but they now force you to buy those additional laps. Where this might get interesting is if other people, third party manufacturers start developing apse that sony didn't come up with, then it might get a little bit more interesting a... 59ce067264
